Former super middleweight champion Carl Froch believes Wladimir Klitschko is making a very big mistake in exercising his right to an immediate rematch with Tyson Fury.

Last Saturday night in Dusseldorf, Fury pulled off an upset win that rocked the boxing world, when he won twelve round unanimous decision over Klitschko to capture the WBO/IBO/WBA/IBF heavyweight titles. Klitschko was undefeated for over a decade and champion for nearly that length of time.

Froch sees Fury easily pulling off a repeat victory in the second go.

He expects Fury to enter the fight with more confidence and even sharper. Froch sees Klitschko returning in the same form - or even worse. He says the former champion has finally aged and won't find any answers to beat Fury when they meet again next year.

"So Klitschko has asked for the immediate rematch? Well, we are looking at repeat performance and Tyson Fury will do an even better job. I can understand why they want to take him on again, but I can't see why Klitschko wants it straight away. Given the way he performed in the first one, I just don't see where he gets his ambition to give it another go," Froch told Sky Sports News.

"I do not want to take anything away from Fury, because he did exactly what he said he'd do; make it awkward and beat him. He got under his skin throughout, he just had everything he needed to beat Klitschko and beat him well - no matter how bad the world champion was. His punch volume, his ambition, his confidence were all poor. He looked like he didn't have a clue and was just following Fury around. He boxed so poorly, with no conviction, I just can't see how Klitschko comes into the rematch suddenly feeling like he's right up for it."

"Let me tell you one thing I am sure of: Tyson Fury is going to grow in confidence as a world champion. He might become more elusive, but fair play to him, he should and he will. Tyson went into that first one believing he could do it but he didn't know and was still dangerous. Now he knows - and we know - he can do it second time around. We will see a better Tyson Fury - especially in the immediate rematch. They are going up with what looked to me like an old man, who had no confidence and was that poor, will be as poor again. This rematch clause suits Tyson Fury, the heavyweight champion of the world, down to the ground."
