Frank Warren says he would be confident in matching Daniel Dubois against unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
Dubois, 22, is viewed as one of Britain's bright heavyweight prospects and is back in action on Saturday when he takes on Kyotaro Fujimoto.
The undefeated youngster, who is rumoured to have had the better of spars with Joshua in the past, fights the Japanese at the Copper Box Arena in London, exclusively live on BT Sport.
And Warren, who has been a master of bringing through youngsters to title success, believes his charge –– defending his WBO International heavyweight belt while also vying for the vacant WBC Silver heavyweight crown –– has what it takes to trouble the man who became a two-time world champion, regaining the WBA Super, IBO, IBF and WBO world heavyweight titles against Andy Ruiz Jr., at the Diriyah Arena in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, earlier this month.
“If I could make him and Anthony Joshua today, I would make it,” said 67-year-old Warren. “I am so confident. People say 'it's too soon'. I know who I would have my money on.”
Dubois fights Fujimoto in his fifth outing of the year and the former kickboxer, 33, is venturing outside of his homeland for the first time to take on the British champion, who has fought in March, April, July and September already.
"It's been an amazing year so we are moving on past this one and on to an even better one next year," Dubois, who is 13-0 with all but one early. "I'm young, with a lot of ability and I'm ready to be pushed on now. It's a matter of getting the right fights and for Frank to map out the route."
