The supporting cast has been confirmed for the freeview portion of the Sebastian Fundora-Keith Thurman card.
As previously reported by BoxingScene, Frank Martin and Rances Barthelemy are confirmed to headline the preliminary undercard from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their scheduled 10-round junior welterweight clash will top a three-fight PBC on Prime Video stream preceding the already announced four-fight October 25 Pay-Per-View portion event.
Martin, 18-1 (12 KOs) returns to the ring for the first time since he suffered the lone defeat of his career. An 8th-round knockout to WBA lightweight titlist Gervonta "Tank" Davis last June 15 also took place at this venue.
The fight marked his last at lightweight as well as with longtime head trainer Derrick James. Martin will now campaign at 140 as he prepares under the guidance of Hall of Fame former two-division champ James "Buddy" McGirt.
“I’m excited to be back after people tried to bash me for taking one loss,” said Martin. “I took it as a lesson learned and I’m back mentally and physically at the top of my game. Rances is gonna have to deal with everything I went through, and he’s gonna feel it on every punch. I’m back and I’m pissed off and dangerous.”
Naturally, Barthelemy has a different perspective on their bout.
However, an uphill battle awaits the 39-year-old Las Vegas-based Cuban, who has not fought since an April 2024 defeat to former unified 140lbs titlist Jose Carlos Ramirez. Still, Barthelemy - a former lightweight titlist - enters the matchup brimming with confidence.
“October 25 is the night I remind everyone who Rances Barthelemy is,” said Barthelemy. “Frank Martin is a talented fighter, but I’ve been in deep waters before, and experience counts when the lights are brightest. I’m coming with new hunger, sharper focus, and the fire of a man chasing one more world title run. Fans tuning in are going to see me determined to leave everything in the ring. I’m not here to survive, I’m here to dominate and make sure my name is back on everyone’s radar.”
Martin-Barthelemy is joined by a pair of unbeaten prospects featured in separate crossroads bouts.
Locally-based 19-year-old southpaw Kaipo Gallegos, 10-0-1 (8 KOs) will take on Colombia's Nike Theran, 20-1 (14 KOs) in a scheduled 10-round lightweight contest.
Opening the three-fight telecast, the Dominican Republic's Luis Nuñez, 21-0 (14 KOs) meets Argentina's Hector Sosa in a junior lightweight bout also scheduled for ten rounds.
