Frank Buglioni and Callum Johnson will finally meet in the ring in a couple of months’ time.

The pair had been set for action, for Buglioni’s British and Johnson’s Commonwealth light-heavyweight titles, back in October at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, before Johnson was forced to withdraw and the Lonsdale belt holder faced Craig Richards.

But terms have been agreed for the duo to finally get it on and it will happen in London on March 24.

Buglioni will put his British crown at stake along with ‘The One’s’ rainbow strap at the O2 Arena, exclusively live on Sky Sports, as part of the supporting cast to Dillian Whyte’s WBC Silver heavyweight title defence against Lucas Browne.

“It’s lovely to be back in London after fighting in Cardiff last time out,” Buglioni, who was at the top table at the Trinity House Hotel on Thursday, said. “This will be my first fight of the year and I’ve got no cuts and injuries, so I can keep the momentum going from my last fight.

“I expect to do a good number on Callum Johnson on the night and then the same against Hosea Burton, should he want the rematch. I’d be happy to take that fight and then if I beat him it’s on to Anthony Yarde, who I’d like to just wipe out of the domestic scene before moving on.”

Buglioni has been the British champion since his first fight with the aforementioned Burton, which took place in Manchester back in December 2016, when he stopped him in the final round of 12.

Johnson, the Commonwealth titlist, has been out since winning that title against Willbeforce Shihepo at Manchester Arena back in September 2016.

But Buglioni thinks he will beat the 16-0 (11 KOs) man after heading in to a camp for the first time without being tied down by ailments.

“I’ve been practising certain things and this will be the first time in a long time that I haven’t got any injuries,” Buglioni added. “I’ve done a lot of repair and rehabilitation work, my punching power is back to where it was at the start of my career and I expect to hurt a lot of people and blow a lot of these light-heavyweights away.”

The promoter of the show, Eddie Hearn, stated that further undercard fights would be revealed in due course, with a particular focus being put on the heavyweight division.
