FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Francisco Veron and Roiman Villa both beat the scales the day before they will try to beat each other.

Veron, 15-1-1 (10 KOs), checked in at 153.6lbs, while Villa, 27-3 (25 KOs), came in at 152.8lbs ahead of their 10-round junior middleweight fight on Friday at the War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The WBC Latino title will be at stake, as is a chance to jump into junior middleweight contention. Veron, 27, of Buenos Aires, Argentina is rated no. 14 by the WBC and is seeking his second straight victory following his unanimous decision loss last year to Brandon Adams. Villa, 32, of Bogota, Colombia is also looking for a second win in a row following knockout losses to Jaron Ennis and Ricardo Salas.

Veron-Villa will headline a ProBox TV card which goes live at 7 p.m.

In the co-featured bout, Tsendbaatar Erdenebat, 13-0 (6 KOs), of Tsetserleg, Mongolia weighed in at the 133lbs catchweight limit, while Abraham Montoya, 23-6-1 (14 KOs), of Mexicali, Mexico was 134lbs and was not made to weigh-in again. 

The ProBox broadcast will feature two more eight-round fights on their main broadcast.

Dante Benjamin, 12-0-1 (9 KOs), of Cleveland, Ohio weighed 173.6lbs while Money Powell IV, 13-2 (8 KOs), of Fort Mitchell, Alabama came in at 175.6lbs. In a junior lightweight fight, Francois Scarboro Jnr, 11-0 (8 KOs), of Cheverly, Maryland checked in at 129.6lbs while Onyx Sanchez-Medina, 8-0-1 (8 KOs), of Las Piedras, Puerto Rico was 130lbs even.

The lone significant miss on the scales came from Devario Hauser, an 0-2 boxer from Gary, Indiana, who initially checked in at 176lbs for a four-round fight at a contracted catchweight of 170lbs. His opponent, Daniel Ramirez, 5-0 (2 KOs), of Lake Mary, Florida, came in at 170lbs even.
