IBF super bantamweight champion Carl Frampton blew off the recent trash talk from his domestic rival Scott Quigg, who holds the WBA's regular title at the weight. In a recent interview, Quigg told reporters that Frampton was the "easiest" big fight option at the weight.
Quigg said: “Style wise, it’s the easiest fight for me out of Frampton, Santa Cruz and obviously Rigondeaux. Out of the three, Frampton stylistically is the easiest fight for me."
Frampton, training for his upcoming mandatory defense on February 28th against Chris Avalos at the Odyssey in Belfast, said Quigg copies everything that he does and says.
Their rivalry over the years has created the potential for a major event in the UK.
“He has been doing this for two to three years. I say something in an interview and he repeats it two to three weeks later. I said recently that he was my easiest fight for the biggest purse - and that included fights with Rigondeaux, Santa Cruz and Avalos. He has been copying me for years and he really should start saying something original and start thinking on his feet - but imitation is the greatest form of flattery,” Frampton told Newsletter.
