The fight is not even here yet and Floyd Mayweather Jr. is hit with a lawsuit a few hours before his long awaited return on HBO pay-per-view against Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
TMZ reports that Mayweather is now being sued by a law firm in Las Vegas. The Vegas firm claims in the suit that Mayweather stiffed them for $10,000 for some legal real estate work. They are looking to recover the $10K plus interest and costs.
Last Week, JP Morgan Chase Bank filed a lawsuit against Mayweather for defaulting on a car loan, claiming that Mayweather owes $167,000. Mayweather stopped making his car payments of in February of 2008. The subject Mercedes Maybach 57S was repossessed by the bank in January 2009.
Keith Kizer, executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, confirmed a few days ago that Mayweather's purse has a $5 million dollar levy attached from the IRS. The levy is a settlement the boxer reached with the IRS to eliminate a tax debt of $6.1 million.
