WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) have his take on the most anticipated fight in the second half of 2015 - Miguel Cotto vs. Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.
Mayweather won a twelve round unanimous decision over Cotto in 2012 and then in 2013 he defeated Canelo by a twelve round decision.
Cotto-Canelo is targeted for November 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The two boxers will meet at a catch-weight of 155-pounds for Cotto's WBC middleweight title. The two sides are currently in deep negotiations to finalize an agreement.
Mayweather like the fight but he's on the fence over who will win.
"Canelo and Cotto is an intriguing matchup. I think Cotto took more chances with me, but he took more punishment. Canelo is a very smart boxer though. Cotto, he box too a little bit. Later on in the fight he showed me that he had boxing skills, but you got to realize that Cotto used to watch me every day when I used to be at Top Rank," Mayweather told BoxingScene.com.
"Before Cotto turned professional I was world champion, so he used to come in the gym every day and he used to watch me. To this day I still see Cotto making certain pivot moves that I do and I can't take nothing away from him. Cotto is a very strong, hard hitting guy. Canelo is a very sharp boxer, so it's a very intriguing matchup. I don't know [who I would put my money on]."
