The ongoing feud between super middleweights Chris Eubank Jr. and Billy Joe Saunders has continued to play out.
The two boxers have been trading words since their in-ring showdown took place back in 2014, which saw Saunders win a close twelve round split decision in London.
Eubank Jr. is now back in the mix, after winning a dominant decision in retiring Olympic gold medal winner James DeGale earlier this year to capture the IBO title at 168-pounds.
In a recent interview, Saunders - who holds the WBO title at 168 - downplayed the worth and abilities of Eubank.
And because of that, Eubank has made claims that Saunders is avoiding him. He believes the fight can be made right now, but he's not going to chase after it.
Saunders extended his win streak to 28-0 back in May, after winning a decision over Shefat Isufi. He would later part ways with Frank Warren and sign a contract with Eddie Hearn of Matchroom.
"We've been trying to make that fight for years. Whenever it happens, it happens. He's not really a priority for me right now because there's so many other big names out there. But when that fight happens, he'll get what's coming, and I'll be able to move on," Eubank Jr. said.
"He doesn't want to fight unless he's getting paid a crazy amount of money. But at this stage, the fight can be made; it's just when and where. I haven't been as active as I wanted to be this year. I said I wanted to fight three times this year and I've only fought once. I will definitely be fighting before the year's out. It will be within the next couple of months and there will be an announcement in the next couple of weeks on the opponent and venue."
