Former two-division world champion David Haye (27-2, 25KOs) is back in the mix after being out of the ring for over three years.

He returned to the ring on Saturday night with a first round destruction of Australian top ten heavyweight contender Mark De Mori.

Haye was last in action after knocking out Dereck Chisora in July 2012.

Haye's camp firmly believe that heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will not take a fight against him, which may lead them to pursue either WBC champion Deontay Wilder or IBF champion Charles Martin as alternatives.

Haye has made no secret of his desire to fight Olympic gold medal winner Anthony Joshua, who has captured the imagination of the public by stopping all 15 of his opponents in a stellar start to his professional career.

He sat ringside last December as Joshua shook off an early scare to pull out a vicious knockout victory in the seventh round of his domestic rival, Dillian Whyte.

Haye is ready to fight with Joshua by the end of the year, although it's unlikely the young prospect will be ready for such a contest that soon.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport said a showdown between the pair is "inevitable".

Hearn told Sky Sports: "It was good to see David back in the ring and although it was a mismatch, you could still see that he looked fresh and sharp.

"I think a fight between the two is inevitable at some point.

"They both seem to want to collect a world title, so whether it's for one or en route - Joshua v Haye is a mouth-watering prospect."
