Fight fans from Southern California and within close proximity typically don’t need to pounce on tickets for fights at Home Depot Center in Carson.

The venue often is half-empty or partially filled with people who’ve attained discounted or free tickets. It is highly unlikely that’ll be the case Oct. 13, the night HBO will broadcast one of the best “Boxing After Dark” doubleheaders in the network’s recent history.

Tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. PDT for the card that’ll feature bouts between Nonito Donaire and Toshiaki Nishioka and Mike Alvarado and Brandon Rios.

Tickets are priced at $150, $75 and $35, and can be bought online at AXS.com, by phone (888-929-7849) or at the Home Depot Center Box Office (Monday-Friday; from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. PDT).

Suites for the card are available as well (877-604-8777). Customers can get discounts on tickets for groups of 10 or more by calling 877-234-8425, or by visiting aegtickets.com.

Donaire (29-1, 18 KOs), of San Leandro, Calif., will face his stiffest test at 122 pounds against Japan’s Nishioka (39-4-3, 24 KOs). Their 12-round fight will be contested for Donaire’s IBF and WBO super bantamweight championships.

Alvarado (33-0, 23 KOs), of Thornton, Colo., and Rios (30-0-1, 22 KOs), of Oxnard, Calif., will square off in a 10-round, non-title fight. Their surefire junior welterweight war quickly became one of the most anticipated fights of 2012 when it was officially announced last week.
