BoxingScene.com has been advised by multiple sources that a welterweight crossroads battle between three time champion Devon Alexander and rugged contender Jesus Soto Karass is in the works for June 21st at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.

Both fighters are coming off losses this past December. Alexander lost his IBF welterweight title to Shawn Porter at the Barclays Center while Soto Karass was stopped by Keith Thurman a week later in San Antonio.

The winner of the fight will have many options available within Golden Boy's deep stable of welterweights.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer recently told multiple outlets that he is looking at putting the Gary Russell Jr versus Vasyl Lomachenko fight for the vacant WBO featherweight title on the same date and venue as the proposed Alexander-Soto Karass fight. He also mentioned that the card possibly could become a triple header.

Golden Boy won the highly anticipated purse bid that was ordered by the WBO to win the rights to the Russell-Lomachenko title tilt.
