If Amir Khan (29-3, 19KOs) is successful on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when he faces former two-division champion Devon Alexander, he is going to be a frontrunner to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0, 26KOs).

If Khan is unable to get Mayweather in the ring, then Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya will attempt to get him a lucrative "Plan B" option. That secondary option is possible a huge domestic fight with IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook, who makes the first defense of his title in February.

“I can see that type of fight happening at Wembley Stadium, for instance, in front of a hundred thousand people,” De La Hoya said. “That would possibly be Plan B."

Brook and his promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, are very interested in facing Khan in the first half of 2015.
