Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez defeated Rocky Fielding by knockout in the third round to add the WBA's "regular" super middleweight title to his growing list of championships.

Canelo, fresh off of his twelve round majority decision victory over Gennady Golovkin in September, knocked down Fielding in the first and second rounds once apiece - with hard shots directed to the Brit's body.

Canelo, 51-1-2, now holds three different titles including the WBA, WBC at middleweight and now the WBA's second-tier title at super middleweight.

The Mexican superstar intends to return in May during Cinco De Mayo weekend, when he defends a title at 160 or 168 in Las Vegas.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya, who promotes Canelo, was not surprised by the outcome, telling reporters that he never said Fielding was going to be the toughest fight of Canelo's career.

“I think he showed not only his patience and his great body work but he showed he can hang in there with the big boys at 168 pounds. Look, I told everyone, I didn’t promote this as the toughest fight for Canelo, but it wasn’t the easiest because of the weight difference and him moving up in weight," De La Hoya said.

Now Canelo has a lot of options out there, and he's now a target by every major name from junior middleweight to super middleweight. And De Le Hoya, in an obvious joke, said he would not be shocked if Canelo was targeted by the likes of IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshshua.

“Canelo has a target on his back and everybody wants to fight him and everybody wants to challenge him. I’m pretty sure Anthony Joshua wants to challenge him as well,” De La Hoya said.
