Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs) is already training very hard for the scheduled grudge match with IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KOs).

There is a lot of hostility between the two camps - and especially between the two fighters.

Canelo is very angry after some of the statements that were made by Golovkin and his head trainer, Abel Sanchez.

After Canelo failed a pair of drug tests in February, Golovkin erupted.

Canelo tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol - which the boxer attributes to ingesting contaminated meat while training in Mexico.

Golovkin was less than willing to accept that explanation - and then he verbally tore apart the Mexican superstar.

He accused Canelo of being a longtime user of performance enhancing drugs - and even made allegations that Canelo may have been using PEDs in their first contest - when the two boxers fought to a controversial twelve round split draw.

Canelo made it clear that he no longer has any respect for Golovkin - and that position is music to De La Hoya's ears.

"Well, that's exactly what a fighter needs, and that's exactly why this fight is going to be such a great fight," De La Hoya said.

"Like Canelo said, the little respect they had for each other is out the window, and when you're a fighter and you have no respect for your opponent, magic happens. Magic takes place inside the ring. You train harder in the gym. You run extra miles. You assure yourself that you're in tiptop shape but more importantly it's mental, the mental aspect of it is at its highest level. That's why I think that these bullfighters are going to be in tiptop shape come September 15 and we will see an amazing fight."
