The returning Lamon Brewster, a former WBO heavyweight champ, is making it very clear that he is ready to take on all comers. Currently making moves to return to the ring after recuperating from an eye injury, Brewster is certainly not avoiding a single fighter at the weight.

At the present, Brewster is said to be in rematch talks with both IBF heavyweight champ Wladimir Klitschko and German superstar Luan Krasniqi. Brewster holds knockout wins over both fighters and is willing to face either of them in Germany.

One man that wanted no part of Brewster was David Tua, though the reason for turning down the fight is not entirely clear. It was reported in New Zealand's The Press , that Tua's promoter Cedric Kushner turned down a May fight with Brewster not long after Tua decisioned Robert Hawkins on Feb. 22 in New York.

It was said by Kushner that Tua needed to be more active and the Brewster fight was "too far away". What makes no sense is Tua probably won't fight until late June at the earliest, which contradicts both reasons given to the paper for turning down Brewster. Tua told the paper that he does not regret turning down the fight with Brewster because he can now spend more time with his family.

"I made that decision after the Hawkins fight. As a fighter you have to have your mind in the right place, or you are going to get hurt," Tua said. "The world hasn't seen the best of David Tua. People can laugh at that or believe it. I don't mind. But I'm serious. I know I haven't fought at my peak yet. I'm not trying to sell a product or fool people. I know that my best performance is still in me."

A Tua-Brewster encounter is a dream fight for fans that love punchers in the heavyweight division. It's hard to picture a potential fight between these two heavyweights going the distance.
