WBA heavyweight champion David Haye has promised to put a beating on Audley Harrison when the two British fighters collide on November 13 at the MEN Arena in Manchester, England. Sky Sports Pay-Per-View will televise.
At one time, Haye considered Harrison, a 2000 Olympic gold medal winner, a good friend. Over the years the relationship became strained and they stopped being friends. Haye sees Harrison as a fighter who is hated by the British boxing fans. He wants to do his duty for the British fans by giving Harrison a beating.
"At one stage I had a lot of respect for Audley, but over the years that respect has turned to disdain," said Haye. "It's now time for me to go out there and close the Audley Harrison show once and for all. Audley's a big name, but he's known as a boxer that people want to see get destroyed. The public want to see one final high-profile destruction of Audley Harrison, and I'm only too happy to do my duty for the British people."
