The former junior middleweight champion of the WBA, Daniel Santos (32-4-1, 23 KO's) has surprisingly not fought since losing his title to Yuri Foreman in 2009. He makes it clear that he hasn't retired from boxing and wants to face Mexico's Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (39-0-1, 29KOs) for the WBC's championship at 154-pounds.

"He's a fighter who doesn't convince me. If I said he did, I would be lying. I think he's short for 154 but has speed and power. But I do not think he's solid. I'm sure he will not want to fight me...that I'm sure of - because I'm good and I cause fear. Canelo and the others  know that I'm alive and they don't dare [mess with me]," he said.

Santos, an Olympic medalist, looks physically in shape.

"I have been training. I have some boys that I am helping to train and it motivate me. I had a fight scheduled for February but it fell through. Last summer I had another [fight scheduled] and it fell through. Not because of me. I'm waiting for a fight with whoever dares to fight me," Santos said.
