A statement was officially released by Golden Boy Promotions, stating that due to unforeseen promotional issues, IBF welterweight champion Kermit Cintron was withdrawn from his February 10th title defense against “Sugar Shane” Mosley.

They noted that Mosley will proceed with HBO-televised card at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, and that his new opponent will be announced this week.

As reported last week, Cintron was having issues with his promoter Bobby Bostick over money that Cintron claims is owed to him for his bouts with David Estrada and Mark Suarez. The issue was not helped when it was revealed that a lawsuit was looming from Cintron's former promoters, Main Events, over who should have the actual rights to promote his bouts.

Former welterweight champion Luis Collazo, the original choice for the February date, was shot back in the picture when Golden Boy Promotions learned of Cintron's promotional issues and more important, the possibility of being dragged into a lawsuit if they went forward with Cintron.
