The living legend of Mexican boxing, Julio César Chávez Sr., is going to help his son as much as possible to prepare for the showdown on June 4 with WBC middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik. The fight is going to take place at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Julio Jr. is being trained by Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym, but he will receive various tips from his father to achieve the victory.
"There are few tips that I can give to him, that I can teach him. He knows very well what he needs to do in the ring. He just needs to prepare and train like a pro, and the victory will be that much closer," Chavez Sr. said. "Julio knows that he is facing a very tough opponent, who is a true world champion and undefeated, but I am confident that Julio's qualities will give him what he needs to come out with his arm raised. I hope that he wins the title."
Julio Sr. believes his son can become the next Mexican idol in the sport of boxing.
"I see great potential for him as a boxer, and I base that upon his qualities as a fighter and not because he bears my name and not because he's my son," Chavez Sr. said.
