A "Duel of Queens" took place before a sold out house with about 5,500 people in the Agency Surman Villa de las Flores in Coacalco, Mexico. The silver junior flyweight champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC), the "Queen of Ecatepec" Yessica "Kika" Chavez (19-3-2, 4 KOs), and Monterrey's Arely "Machine Gun" Muciño (18-2-1, 10 KOs), fought to a ten round majority draw with a very exciting fight from start to finish. Both of the Mexican fighters had their moments, with close rounds that were hard to score for the judges. At the end, many of the ringside observers felt Mucino had done enough to win the title. The two boxers have agreed to have a rematch.
