Staples Center, Los Angeles - Michael Finney (9-0, 7KOs) was cut above his left eye and took a few lumps on the road to winning a four round unanimous decision over Joel Vargas (3-7-1, 3KOs). All three judges scored it 40-36.

Junior middleweight Jermell Charlo (18-0-1, 9KOs) got off to rough start but he came back in the fifth round to level Denis Douglin (14-2, 8KOs) with a wicked right hand counter that put Douglin down and nearly out. Douglin made it to his feet but he was barely able to stand and the referee waved off the fight.

Super lightweight Omar Figueroa (18-0-1, 15KOs) destroyed Alain Hernandez (18-11-2, 10KOs) in the first round. In the final minute of the first round, Figueroa unloaded with combinations on Hernandez until the referee had seen enough and stopped the fight.

Junior featherweight prospect Randy Caballero (15-0, 8KOs) stopped Jamal Parram (5-6-1, 4KOs) in the fifth round. A big hook to the body sent Parram down in the fifth. A moment later he went down to both knees after taking some more punishment. Caballero went on the attack and put him down for a third time as the referee waved it off.
