Jermell Charlo reacted as you might expect Tuesday to Erickson Lubin’s suggestion on Twitter that Charlo uses cocaine.

Charlo called Lubin “a f***ing bum” after Lubin sent out a Tweet on Tuesday night of Charlo’s head, photoshopped on the body of an unidentified man who’s leaning over a pile of cocaine. Lubin attached the hashtag, “#LinesOnly” to the photo, a reference to the motto, “Lions Only,” often uttered by Jermell Charlo and his twin brother, Jermall Charlo.

Three hours earlier, Lubin sent out a Tweet that included the same photo, initially with the message, “Get The Strap.”

Jermell Charlo, the unbeaten WBC super welterweight champion, scored a sensational, one-punch, first-round knockout of the previously unbeaten Lubin in their much-anticipated 154-pound title fight October 14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Lubin (19-1, 13 KOs) returned to the ring for the first time since Charlo beat him Saturday night in El Paso, Texas. The southpaw from Orlando, Florida, won a technical decision against Mexico’s Silverio Ortiz (37-22, 18 KOs).

Houston’s Charlo referred to attending that card Saturday night in his Twitter response to Lubin.

Charlo responded by Tweeting: I seen you last weekend you ain’t have sh*t to say. I had your momma crying for a rematch when I knocked you out. You better chill you f***ing bum. But I guess you don’t remember. You sure you not the one on coke?

Lubin might’ve taken to Twitter on Tuesday in response to something Charlo stated on Twitter on Monday night.

Referring to a BoxingScene.com article in which Lubin discussed wanting a rematch, Charlo issued this Tweet: Sorry Your Done. You Almost Got Dropped By A Guy 37-21. I Was There Live Commentating Hahahahahaha Keep Growing.

Charlo also attached a link to the BoxingScene.com story in which Lubin discussed a potential rematch.

Promoter Lou DiBella, whose company handled the card that included the Charlo-Lubin fight, admonished Lubin on Twitter for his post about Charlo. DiBella called Lubin’s attack “BULLSH*T” and advised the 22-year-old fighter to take down the post because “that’s what’s right.”

Jermell Charlo (30-0, 15 KOs) is scheduled to defend his WBC 154-pound championship against Austin Trout (31-4, 17 KOs) on June 9 in Los Angeles. Showtime will televise their 12-round title fight from Staples Center.

If the favored Charlo beats Trout, he is expected to face IBF/WBA champion Jarrett Hurd (22-0, 15 KOs) in a 154-pound title unification fight later this year.
