WBA 'regular' heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev has been ordered to reach a deal with Lucas Browne by November 30th or the two sides will be directed to take part in a purse bid.

Chagaev was initially ordered to face Fres Oquendo in a rematch. That fight was scheduled for October 17th in Kiel, Germany.

The rematch was canceled when Oquendo suffered a left shoulder injury during a sparring session in training camp.

Oquendo informed the WBA that his shoulder was examined on October 29th, and surgery is now scheduled for November 17th. Oquendo will not be able to train for 3 months and he was advised not to fight for at least six months following the procedure.

In light of Oquendo's injuries, Browne will now get his shot at Chagaev.

Chagaev was last seen in action on July 11th, when he knocked out Francesco Pianeta in one round.

Undefeated Browne (23-0, 20KOs) fought the very large Julius Long in August and scored a knockout over him in nine rounds.
