Former two-division champion Jose Luis Castillo is oozing with confidence as his showdown with undefeated Ricky Hatton, scheduled to take place on June 23 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, is drawing near.
Castillo doesn't see anything special about Hatton. He feels the unbeaten Brit has already been exposed in his last few bouts as nothing more than ordinary.
"We have looked at some tapes of his fights and know he likes to come forward and that's great because that's what I like to do," Castillo told Sentana . "I think Hatton has been exposed as being a relatively ordinary fighter."
Castillo pictures an all-out war because both fighters plan to come forward and bang. The tough Mexican says he trained harder for Hatton than he did for the rematch with the late Diego Corrales.
"I have been in a lot of wars and I need the best opponents to bring out the best in me," said Castillo. "I have a feeling this fight is like a new beginning. The motivation of facing Hatton has brought out the best of me. I have trained harder for this fight than when I was preparing to fight Diego Corrales for the second time to get my revenge. It will be a war when I fight Hatton. I have great respect for Hatton and I know it will be an exciting fight."
