WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch is still hopeful of a Sky Sports televised doubleheader with WBA heavyweight champion David Haye. The two popular British boxers are scheduled for action on the same day, May 21. The doubleheader would be a split-site event because of Froch's contractual obligation to fight Glen Johnson in the Super Six semi-finals in the United States. Haye is likely to fight at the O2 Arena in London, but no opponent has been finalized.
“It’s all falling into place, with my defence scheduled against Glen Johnson – without a definite venue so far – and David with a venue but no opponent,” Froch said to Gareth Davies of The Telegraph. “It will be great to get on to Sky Box Office alongside other British world champions in Haye and Khan. I think I’ve earned it the hard way in my last six fights – all against world-class opposition."
“Johnson will be a tough fight. We don’t have a venue yet, but my representative is talking with them. On the Classic Super Sixes I’m contracted to fight the semi-final in America. It’s a shame because my last two fights were both away from home and this is a Brit against a Jamaican.”
