Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (45-1-1, 32KOs) has a clear goal in mind when he enters the ring in November 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
Canelo will challenge Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33KOs) for the WBC middleweight championship. The bout takes place at a catch-weight of 155-pounds.
The 25-year-old fighter is taking no chances with scorecards or potential politics and wants to prevent Cotto from reaching the judges.
"I do not want to leave this in the hands of judges," Canelo said.
Both fighters have had their share of success and setbacks in Las Vegas. Canelo suffered defeat in Las Vegas when he fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2013. Cotto was also beaten in Las Vegas by Mayweather, when they fought in 2012. Cotto also suffered defeats in Las Vegas when he faced Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito.
Canelo plans to apply the pressure from the very first round to prevent Cotto from setting the pace and establishing a rhythm.
"I'm ready to come out and press in the first round. We're going to press the fight. He is very strong physically, so we have to [combat that factor] from the very beginning of the fight," Canelo said.
