There will be no issues with the brand of gloves that will be used on Saturday night as Gennady Golovkin defends his middleweight titles against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Alvarez, was contemplating sporting a pair that were created by his trainers that had never been previously used in big fights. It has been decided that Alvarez - like he did last year - will use the Japanese brand, Winning.

The two camps met on Wednesday to discuss the issue and the president of Golden Boy Promotions, Eric Gomez says there are no issues.

"No, we worked it all out beforehand. There were some questions and some concerns early on. It's been all worked out now and there's no issues."

As for why Alvarez chose that particular brand (which is known for protecting the hands well but not considered a 'punchers glove') Gomez told BoxingScene.com - "That's what he used in the first fight, he feels comfortable, they're good gloves, Winning. They're really built made gloves. It was just his decision, that's what he wanted to do."

Gomez says that their side has no objections to Golovkin's gloves.

This has been a highly contentious promotion where many issues have been fought over. So will there be any more conflicts before the first bell rings at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas?

"I hope not, you never know with Abel (Sanchez)," said a rather exasperated Gomez, pointing the finger at Golovkin's out-spoken trainer.

"He brings up things, whether it's a strategy to distract or disrupt 'Canelo' and his camp or whether it's just the way he is. For the most part we really took our time and looked at every piece for the fight.

"Any concerns they had from the first fight, I think we've addressed everything, from the officials, the referee. All that stuff. "

The two sides agreed on the trio of Steve Weisfeld, Glenn Feldman and Dave Moretti and referee Benji Esteves. This was a big issue given the controversial nature of last year's draw between the two.

"All that stuff was worked out amicably. But with Abel you never know, he's probably the only one that will cause a stink."

Gomez makes it clear, "it's about the fighters, it's about the fight. Let's stop with the non-sense. It's the fight and let the fighters, fight. It's unfortunate that there were some issues in the last fight, a lot of people were not happy with the draw.

"But guess what, we got a second fight out of it and that's the reason we're doing this. So enough with all that stuff. Enough with the name-calling and accusations. Let's fight now."
