WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (41-0-1, 30KOs) is looking to get revenge for his family on April 20th at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Canelo will face WBA champion Austin "No Doubt" Trout (26-0, 14KOs) in a unification showdown. Their recent press tour in Texas drew hundreds of fans to the media functions. Sources in Texas report that 20,000 tickets have already been sold. Canelo was overwhelmed by the show of support from the fans.
"It gave me goosebumps when I walked to the podium [at the press conferences] and listened to all of the people who were there to support me," Canelo said.
But the fight is personal for the 22-year-old champion. Back in February of 2011, Canelo sat ringside at the Arena Coliseo in Guadalajara and watched his older brother, Rigoberto Alvarez, get outboxed for twelve rounds as Trout took a lopsided decision to capture the WBA crown.
"This fight is personal for me. I was in the front row when Austin Trout beat my brother. Now I have the opportunity to wipe out that defeat," Canelo said.
