Unified super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe stated during a recent appearance on BBC Radio Five Live, that he is very eager to face Antonio Tarver at light heavyweight, and the winner of the upcoming Jermain Taylor-Winky Wright middleweight showdown. He would like a fight against any of the three to take place in November.

Calzaghe's preference would be a battle against the winner of Taylor-Wright, because he feels that Tarver's style does not match very well with his own. In Calzaghe's opinion, a battle against Wright or Taylor would be a more exciting fight.

"Tarver is probably the best light heavyweight in the world but is not an attractive or exciting fighter," he said. "He's a southpaw like myself, he's tall and he's very defensive, not exciting."

Joe made it very clear that he aims to retire in two years, but he wants to reach his goal of becoming a two division champion prior to hanging up the gloves.

"I want to fight for another two years. In that time I think I can achieve maybe two superfights and be a two-weight world champion," Calzaghe old BBC Radio Five Live
