UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez is hoping junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) is able to defeat the pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Velasquez, who is getting very popular with the Mexican fans, wants Canelo to turn the boxing world upside down by securing a huge victory for Mexico.

"Of course I'll be supporting Canelo, I really hope he wins," Velasquez said.

Most Mexican fighters and other top figures in the country, including Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., Juan Manuel Marquez, Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera have pledged their support to Canelo. Mayweather has defeated Mexican fighters Jose Luis Castillo, Juan Manuel Marquez, Oscar De La Hoya and several others.
