BoxingScene.com spoke to WBA featherweight champion Celestino "Pelenchin" Caballero who recently signed to 50 Cent's new promotional company, TMT Promotions. Caballero, who also trains at the Mayweather Boxing Club, said that he is excited to be part of the new promotional outfit.
"I am happy to be part of TMT. I like what they had to say and what direction they are going so I signed with them. I have faith in God that everything will turn out how I hope," Caballero explained.
Caballero hasn't fought since December 31st when he traveled to Japan and beat Satoshi Hosono in his backyard. The Panamanian was in talks to face Mikey Garcia but the fight dissolved for a variety of issues including a change in dates.
Garcia will now face WBO featherweight champion Orlando Salido either in October or November. Caballero favors the 31 year-old Salido over his younger opponent.
"If Salido uses his experience and trains hard I think he will win," Caballero stated. "I don't think Garcia will be able to withstand his body attack."
Pelenchin finished our conversation by saying that the fans can expect to see him in the ring soon.
"Hopefully I will be back in the ring soon. I want to bring the fans another great win," Cabllero told BoxingScene.
