Adrien Broner appeared on a recent edition of, The Boxing Lab, BoxingScene.com's official audio show.  In 2011, the 22-year-old rose from prospect to contender, and then culminated the year by capturing the vacant WBO super featherweight championship by knocking out Vicente Martin Rodriguez in November.  The fight took place in Broner's hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio.  Broner would tell The Boxing Lab that he loved fighting at home and that he hoped to fight in Cincinnati frequently.

"I love fighting here. I have had 12 fights at home. I put on a good show at home. I'm definitely appreciated when I fight in my  hometown.  I want to keep fighting here in the future," said Broner.

Broner said that two time Olympian and amateur standout Rau'shee Warren was the first fighter he looked up too.  Warren is a few years older than Broner and also hails from Cincinnati.  Broner, who is known as "The Problem", has raised eyebrows with his flamboyant persona in the ring.  He has danced "The Dougie" in the ring and also has trademarked getting his hair combed before conducting post-fight interviews.  His ring antics have left many fans either loving him or hating him which makes it no surprise that Broner also looked up to Floyd Mayweather Jr. as he rose through the ranks.

"Rau'shee Warren gave me my first whoopin' in the gym," Broner revealed. "I always looked up to Rau'shee but Floyd caught my eye. I was impressed and I have tried to incorporate his game into mine."

Next up for Broner is a title defense against his rival Eloy Perez of Salinas, California.  Perez was in line to face Broner for the vacant title but his team was unhappy with the money being offered to travel to Broner's hometown.  The two undefeated fighters will clash in St. Louis in the opening HBO televised fight leading up to the Devon Alexander-Marcos Maidana main event.
