A rematch between Tim Bradley and Manny Pacquiao appeared all but certain after Bradley defeated the Filipino on June 9th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. At the post fight press conference, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said that he would explore the rematch if Pacquiao wanted it. Top Rank already had a November 10th hold placed on the MGM Grand for Pacquiao's next fight and the 8 division champion said that he was interested in an immediate rematch.
Those plans changed however as recent reports suggest that Top Rank and Pacquiao now are leaning towards a 4th fight against Juan Manuel Marquez.
That leaves the new WBO welterweight champion in a holding pattern as he awaits
Pacquiao's decision. Bradley told BoxingScene.com that if Pacquiao decides to fight Marquez and a fight against pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. can't be made - then a showdown against his rival Amir Khan would be his next option.
"I prefer fighting Pac Man again or Floyd but if they are not available I would not have a problem getting (Lamont) Peterson's sloppy seconds!" Bradley told BoxingScene.com.
The shot Bradley took was obviously referring to Khan's controversial split decision loss to Peterson that occurred last December. Bradley, who has an undefeated record, dropped Peterson in route to a wide decision in their December 2009 fight.
The Southern California based fighter finished our conversation by saying - "UK here I come!"
