WBC/WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (27-0, 11KOs) is not going to sit and wait for a possible July unification with WBA champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17KOs). Khan returns on April 16 in Manchester at the MEN Arena. Bradley would like to get his hands on the British champion. If another lucrative opportunity comes around, Bradley is ready to take it.
Khan is having some trouble locking down an opponent for the April fight. Bradley is ready to step in. He says the two boxers have reason to wait until July.
"No. I ain't waiting on no man. You know what I'm saying? I'm the number one guy at 140-pounds. Amir Khan - he got to wait on me. I ain't waiting on Amir Khan. I told you (Khan) April. You need a dance partner, I'll go over to England. I'll kick your but in England and take your belt...over in England in April! That's what you want," Bradley told OnTheGrindBoxing.com.
"I've been wanting to fight Amir Khan for the longest time, since he was with Frank Warren. Before he got with Golden Boy we were trying to make that fight happen. Obviously the fight fell through. The dial-tones on the phone, that's all we can hear when we call. We just heard dial-tones, and rings, and rings, and rings and they never picked up."
