The British Boxing Board of Control today ordered an immediate rematch between Queensberry's David Adeleye and Boxxer's Jeamie "TKV" Tshikeva following the contentious end to last Saturday's battle for the vacant British heavyweight championship in Manchester.

BoxingScene reported Tuesday that the result of that contest would remain and so it proved, with Adeleye, 14-1 (13 KOs), still the champion following his sixth-round stoppage victory. The ending was triggered when referee Ron Kearney twice called break and tapped TKV, 8-2 (5 KOs), on the glove that was holding Adeleye's waist. TKV, who appeared to be winning the contest, seemed to respond to the instruction whereas Adeleye let fly with a left hook to the unguarded chin of his opponent. The bout ended soon thereafter with TKV in no condition to continue.

According to the British boxing rules, boxers must continue to defend themselves in the event of the referee calling break. The ending, however, was cruel on TKV.

"Following consideration of the vacant British championship between David Adeleye and Jeamie Tshikeva, which took place on Saturday, 5th April 2025 in Manchester, the Stewards of the Board have ordered an immediate rematch," read a statement released today from the British Boxing Board of Control.

"Purse offers will be released shortly with bids to be received on Wednesday, 14th May 2025."
