Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum was not surprised at all with Marcos Maidana's shocking twelve round upset of Adrien Broner from last Saturday night at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Arum feels Broner was a bit overhyped by the media, but still consider the once-beaten former three division champion to be a good fighter.
"I thought Marcos Maidana fought a very good fight. I really wasn't surprised given Broner's competition before that fight. I think that he really wasn't who the media portrayed him to be. He's still a good fighter but he has to fight like a guy who is a normal fighter. He is not a great fighter. He is a good fighter, he is not a great fighter, and there are many fighters who are better than he is," Arum said.
