Terence Crawford (25-0, 17KOs) capped off a productive 2014 this past weekend at the CenturyLink Center by successfully defending his WBO lightweight crown by blanking Ray Beltran over twelve rounds. And it looks like it will be his swan song a 135-pounds.
"He's going to fight for the 140-pound title, whomever, (Chris) Algieri, (Ruslan) Provodnikov and then he'll fight some top 140-pounder and if everything breaks right, he can be ready to fight (Manny) Pacquiao at the end of the year (2015)," BoxingScene.com was told by Bob Arum, the head of Top Rank, which promotes Omaha's favorite son.
After drawing well in his last two outings in his hometown, there is a chance that Crawford could be headlining in 'the Big Apple' for his next fight.
"It's a possibility," confirmed Arum. "Either against Algieri or Provodnikov in New York, particularly the Barclay Center would be a good venue."
The veteran promoter says he has not specifically discussed any dates with HBO.
