Trainer Angel Garcia was not impressed by Amir Khan's victory from last Saturday night in Los Angeles. Garcia's son, WBA/WBC junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia, stopped Khan in four rounds in July. Khan (27-3, 19KOs) returned last weekend, with new trainer Virgil Hunter, and stopped Carlos Molina in ten rounds.
Angel sat ringside and watched the action. He saw nothing new in Khan's style that would make him believe a rematch with Danny would be any different. In fact, he believes some of the new tactics being employed by Hunter will actually create additional danger for the British star. He also saw Khan get countered several times, flush on the jaw, but Molina did not have the firepower to do any serious damage.
"I seen the same guy. All they trying to do is calm him down more. If he calms him down more than he's really in danger because he's going to sit there and get hit. He looked real anxious like he wanted that W to prove to the world that he's the best. But listen, can he take a shot from a guy like Danny who could punch?," Angel told BoxingScene.com.
