Speaking with Jeff Powell of Daily Mail, WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan discussed his goals for the future. He returns on December 11 against mandatory contender Marcos Maidana. If everything goes as planned, Khan has mapped out his three fight play.
The play is nothing new. Khan has discussed his career layout in the past. According to the British star, he wants to become the first man to knock Maidana out, then he wants to unify the junior welterweight division by knocking out the winner of January's fight between Devon Alexander and Timothy Bradley - and then he wants to face Mayweather at the end of 2011. By they get in the ring, Khan predicts an even 50-50 fight.
"At the moment I would be just Floyd's opponent. First I will deal with Maidana - I believe I'll be the first to knock him out but I don't care if it goes the distance - and then unify the title by stopping the winner of Timothy Bradley and Devon Alexander. Do that and then, towards the end of next year, I can go in against Mayweather in my prime, in a 50-50 fight," Khan said.
