There is speculation going around in Mexico that Jorge Arce will be allowed to face off with Simphiwe Nongqayi for the IBF super flyweight title - if Vic Darchinyan vacates the belt. Darchinyan moved up last weekend to the bantamweight division and lost a twelve round decision to IBF champion Joseph Agbeko.

The IBF issued an order for Darchinyan to make a mandatory defense against Nongqayi, an unbeaten South African, next. According to reports overseas, Darchinyan may vacate the title and make a defense of another belt. He also holds the WBC and WBA titles at the weight. The WBC told ESTO that Darchinyan's team has already informed them that he plans to keep their title.

Arce recently captured the IBF's international super flyweight title with a third round knockout of Fernando Lumacad on June 27 in Atlantic City.
