Former two-time welterweight titleholder Andre Berto seems to be teasing a possible transition to TMT Promotions, according to a tweet from Berto on Monday night.

“3 hour Power Meeting with the big homie @50cent,” Berto wrote on Twitter. “Big plans in the works.”

He then linked to a photo of himself standing alongside the rapper-turned-budding boxing promoter.

50 Cent, aka Curtis Jackson, has recently been in the news after getting a promoter’s license and signing a trio of boxers: super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell, former featherweight beltholder Yuriorkis Gamboa, and current featherweight titleholder Billy Dib.

“TMT” is short for “The Money Team,” a nod to 50 Cent’s fighter friend, Floyd “Money” Mayweather.

Berto last appeared in September 2011, when he stopped Jan Zaveck. He was supposed to have fought a rematch with Victor Ortiz this past June, but that bout was called off when Berto tested positive for nandrolone. The 28-year-old is 28-1 with 22 knockouts.

BoxingScene.com has left a message for Lou DiBella, whose promotional company lists Andre Berto among its fighters.
