Alexander Dimitrenko is set to make the second defence of his European heavyweight title against former unified cruiserweight champion Jean-Marc Mormeck. WBC #6 heavyweight and European champion Alexander “Sascha” Dimitrenko (31-1, 21 KOs) set his goals straight after the sensational recent kayo of Pole Albert Sosnowski (46-4-1, 28 KOs). Alexander wants to become “the champion of the heavyweight division and to make history on both the German and the international fight scenes”.

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, Frenchman Jean Marc Mormeck, who is the former WBA and WBC cruiserweight king and now 3-0 as a heavyweight with a total record of 36-4, is the new mandatory challenger to EBU heavyweight champ Alexander Dimitrenko.

Former WBA champion Jean Marc Mormeck (36-4, 22 KOs) has been appointed by the EBU as the official challenger to the European heavyweight champion Alexander Dimitrenko (31-1, 21 KOs). The 38-year-old Frenchman has put together three wins since moving up to the heavyweight division. The EBU has give both sides until June 26 to reach an agreement or a purse bid will be ordered.

Heavyweight prospect Robert Helenius (15-0, 10KOs) became a serious threat on Saturday after a ninth round knockout of former heavyweight champion Samuel Peter.
