WBC #6 heavyweight and European champion Alexander “Sascha” Dimitrenko (31-1, 21 KOs) set his goals straight after the sensational recent kayo of Pole Albert Sosnowski (46-4-1, 28 KOs). Alexander wants to become “the champion of the heavyweight division and to make history on both the German and the international fight scenes”.

Ten days after his eye-catching victory over the Pole Dimitrenko, the Ukraine-born fighter with German citizenship, is back in training preparing for future challenges and for his dream of becoming the first German champion in the sport’s glamour division since the days of ring legend Max Schmeling.

“I feel better than ever following my sensational win over Albert Sosnowski, which brought the European title back into my possession. An unlucky accident in December and my loss to Eddie Chambers are now behind me and well forgotten. I’m finally freed after this inspiring destruction I scored against the Polish fighter. I’m ready to fight the best. I have been well connected with Germany for a long time, and now, with the German citizenship, I want to bring the world title back to my new Homeland, to Germany”, says Dimitrenko.

“I want to offer my fans and my supporters some thrilling fights like that battle in Hamburg. I saw fascinating responses on my Facebook homepage. My victory over Sosnowski was viewed over two million times at Bild.de and at Youtube. That speaks for itself. Fans want to see really entertaining fights in the heavyweight division: bright action and chilling knockouts. I’m sure I’m a part of the new generation which is ready to conquer the fight scene. I’m also ready to fight in America to earn the  attention of the overseas public as well."

"It’s time to raise the flags and to follow the ultimate goal of acquiring the WBC belt which is currently owned by Vitali Klitschko. That title has memorable history; previously it has been in possession of some all-time greats – Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis. And it’s a time to bring the title to Germany for the German fans. I’m ready to do that and to defend it time and again to create a long title reign. I know there are no easy ways to the top but I’m sure I have enough power and enough abilities to walk the path”.

“The fight between me and Vitali Klitschko would be a fight on even terms. Both of us are from Ukraine, we are both of the same stature, and both I and Vitali were taught by the best standards of the Soviet school of boxing and were guided by German legend Fritz Zdunek. I appreciate his work very much and I also have nothing personal against Vitali. However, it’s that time our when roads are ready to cross each other."

"A championship fight on the German soil would be a fascinating show for local fans. I’m ready to do everything for a convincing and entertaining victory and I’m ready to bring a world-class performance for the German fans”.
