Kov just went over $3 mil his last fight, that was like the budget for the card back then.
I believe that was Pascal is a big draw after beating Bute, but we'll see, time will tell.

no they do not all have equal chances-that doesn't make the lineal title any less. Kov earned his #1 ranking in the ring with those victories-same as Stevenson earned his lineal title in the ring with his win.

The lineal title is what it is because of the proliferation of sanctioning bodies. If you do away with the sanctioning bodies, Kov has no title, Stevenson still has the lineal title-hence its prestige over sanctioning body belts. There may be issues, but there is none relative to LHW.

Kov beating the other contenders to the lineal title makes him the top contender, it doesn't make him the defacto LHW champion. The top boxer in any division is the guy who holds the lineal title. ranking the top opponents are based on a number of factors, including sanctioning body belts.

HBO and some posters may want to anoint Kov the top LHW, but it doesn't work that way. HBO and Kov's fans can label him whatever they wish, even the best LHW, I'm cool with that opinion.

But he isn't the man, that beat the man, that beat the man. He's the guy that started at #2 (or #3) and beat the guys ranked #3 and #1, making him the undisputed #1 contender.

let's just agree that we're at an impasse. stevenson is the wbc champ and the lineal champ; kovalev is the wbo, ibf and wba (super) champ - anything beyond that is a matter of opinion. i don't believe that all opinions were made equal, but whatever. let's just hope that the fight finally comes off this year because otherwise i can see these debates getting messy.

I love this fight so much. First one to land clean puts the other to sleep (Though I do believe Kov has a solid and better chin). I know one thing though if Stevenson beat Kov this board might actually implode. Definitely one of the most hated fighters here lol

After all is said and done, Stevenson is the best opponent for Kovalev.

Stunt about how people see this :

Kovalev opponents ranking since his title:

Nathan Cleverly - August 2013 - WBO Champ
                Ismayl Sillakh - November 2013 - 15th WBO
                Cedric Agnew - March 2014 - 14th WBO
                Blake Caparello - August 2014 - 10th WBO
                Bernard Hopkins - November 2014 - IBF/WBA Champ
                Jean Pascal - March 2015 - #1 WBO

Stevenson opponents ranking since his title:

Chad Dawson - June 2013 - WBC Champ
                Tavoris Cloud - September 2013 - 9th WBC
                Tony Bellew - November 2013 - #1 WBC
                Andrzej Fonfara - May 2014 - 3rd WBC
                Dmitry Sukhotsky - December 2014 - 5th WBC

How exactly does that make Stevenson a wimp ... He did what he had to do within his sanctioned body... And should have the Hopkins fight happened as plan, he would hold 3 belts as well... Hopkins turned around, that's all there is to it...

Now he will prove all of you haters wrong next fall...

Yeah, on paper this opponents ranking looks fine and dandy, but in reality:

Dawson(his biggest win) was mentally and physically shot to ****, Sukhotsky, Cloud - bums. Bellew and Fonfara mediocre fighters, even Campillo is way better.

Easy work Kovalev. 0% chance of Adonis winning. He won't even win a round.

Make it happen and stop ducking already. Words are just words at this point.... UNTIL the fight gets signed and happens- Adonis/Haymon/GYM are ducking Kovalev.
