Stevenson literally ran to Haymon to get him out of a deal to fight Kovalev. After wanting a second tuneup to "build the fight" after they had already fought on the same card to build the fight.

What Superduck did is the definition of ducking in boxing.

Here's what people don't understand. Some fights take time to materialize for various reasons. If there was a boxingscene back in the day there would've been numerous threads calling Leonard a coward and saying that he's ducking Hearns. Sugar didn't fight the Hitman right away. Same thing with Haye and Wladimir. They evetually fought each other.

You can't say a fighter ducked another fighter until the fight never happens. I'll give you an example, Bowe actually ducked Lewis. He trashed his belt and flat out refused the fight. That was a legitimate duck.

You shouldn't bring up fights you didn't watch to bolster your argument. This was a blatant robbery, nobody had it for Cloud. Campillo embarrassed him

I hope this happens! This is shaping up to be one of the best upscoming fights. I was lucky enough to see both of these fighters live, Kovalev is strong and really impressed me with his boxing skill against Hopkins. He can also hit hard but is a wear you out kind of power. The sound of Stevenson landing the 3 or 4 times he did against suhotsky left me in awe. Sounded like a bag of cement dropped from 100 feet onto the ring. WHAM! Without a doubt he hits way harder than Kovalev. This should be an amazing punch up! Stevensons left is a short quick punch, a 6 incher, but man it packs a wallop. If he can land a few Kovalev will be seeing stars. Stevensons legs are starting to look a bit old and he wasn't bounching much like he used to or move around well. If kovalev can stay on the outside and avoid the bomb long enough to tire Stevenson out and really make use of his better overall skill then I cant see Adonis lasting the distance. In the meantime Kivalev had better be damned careful because that punch is WAY harder than anything hes eaten lately.

This fight is only taking time to materialize because Stevenson walked away and didn't want it before. There was a deal nearly in place and he walked. That's a duck.

What does that mean if they fight each other soon? Nothing, so what's your point?

Come on, Bat. That's a ridiculous point to make. Your reaching IMO. If that's what you have to do so be it.

I didn't say that. Jones and Darius have nothing to do with this debate either. You keep bringing up other people to try and shift this.

Plain and simple, Stevenson is the top LHW. You may not like it, but that doesn't make it not true.
Come clear now. Who was the top LHW and who was the no.1 contender? Jones or Michalszewski?

I can see your point, and this is not straight-forward, but.....

After Hopkins beat Pavlik, Pavlik was still the lineal MW champ.

Unless that fight took place with a max weight limit of 175, my boy Ward is not the lineal champ at 175.
Hopkins-Pavlik was at 170 which is above 168. Therefore it could never be for the lineal title at SMW. Ward-Dawson was below 175 and hence it was for Dawson's 175 lb title. That's how lineage Works.
