Stevenson is really not the draw you think he is, and your "levels to this ****" comment looks silly.
It isn't the pimp who would sell out Bell Centre in Montreal -- it's the Canadian public which would buy all the tickets in order to watch the biggest fight ever to take place there...

Kovalev is putting up the same numbers as he did this time last year, while Stevenson is putting up 292k.

It was an anticipated FOTY in 2014, back then it was viewed as 50-50 but now Kovalev is the clear favorite, I don't see on what level that it's bigger now.
It's bigger because Kov eliminated pascal and Bhop. In early 2014, despite what HBO was pushing, Kov was not one of the top 2 LHW's. It was Stevenson and Bhop. Kov was 3rd and to some 4th behind Pascal.

Kov is better than he was in early 2014 and is now a legit top 10 p4p boxer. Winning fights still matters more than the network hype machine. Now they are clearly the 2 best LHW's and many are now suggesting Kov is the best given those wins.

While Stevenson struggled and got k/d against Fonfara. So now instead of a 50-50 potential FOTY you have a fight where everyone expects Kovalev to wipe Stevenson out. So how is it bigger?

Now that Kovalev has eliminated everyone while Stevenson has done nothing, I was thinking that it would be appropriate if he qualified for a shot at the krusher. I think he should fight Andre Ward. That would make a lot of sense. Winner gets Kovalev.

Bat you and others really need to stop this. Kov took and won the 2 more difficult fights than Stevenson. Happens all the time. Every boxers journey to the top isn't the same.

No matter how you try and spin it, Stevenson is the lineal champ and Kov has eliminated the other contenders to that title.

Kovalev is the undisputed no. 1 at LHW and has had a grueling path to that distinction. Time for his contenders to step up. It's the same as Ward demanding that Lucian Bute should qualify for a shot at him coming out of the s6.

Stevenson vs. Ward makes sense and fans would love to see that fight and that would make a fight between Winner and the krusher bigger still.

How does expectations change what happens in the ring? It's still a 50/50 fight, its just the pie is significantly bigger.

People thinking Kov wins easy doesn't mean he will. What many posters hope is either:

                1. they don't fight so they can keep focusing on Adonis not fighting kov in 2014 so they can talk about ducking or

                2. they are scared Stevenson actually wins if they fight because they think it wasn't "fair" that he got the showtime deal and 2 big paydays for easy fights instead of fighting Kov in 2014.

If they fight and Stevenson wins, he's just the better fighter. That seems to bother a lot of posters.

Different fighters travel different roads to the same spot. Just because one had a smoother trip doesn't negate their accomplishments.

Kov is the #1 contender, without question. He isn't the lineal champ and will NEVER be until he defeats Stevenson.

If Stevenson does fight him and beats him, he's better than him, same as if Kov wins, he is the better fighter.

kovalev will win, and he'll make it look easy too. i absolutely want this fight to happen asap because i will take much pleasure in seeing stevenson removed from his senses. but i anticipate stevenson and haymon pulling some new foolery, this time pertaining to purse split or something, and killing the fight again.

I feel you dude. I expect a Kov KO as well but will be rooting for Stevenson. If Kov does as expected, I will be here to take my medicine.

If they don't, and the fight happens, and Stevenson wins, just make sure to log on.
