IIRC they detail this in the Ken Burns film on Johnson which is a very good doc.

Not surprising they got along as they seem to have had similar personalities, living life to the full in the way they wanted to. Partying with them back in the 1900s probably would've been a lot of fun, at...

  • Crazy coincidence that the people who white knight for Canelo 24/7 are the same people trying to pretend that Garcia testing positive in low amounts is the same thing as testing negative. Nobody takes you guys seriously on any subject though so you may as well go full ****** fanboy for both.

  • Tired of people claiming that these protesters are just thugs, virtue signallers and antisemites. These are highly intelligent protesters who care so deeply about 'Palastine' that they almost spelled the name of the place correctly, so no more doubting their good intentions.

  • Nakatani vs Takei is the fight I'd like to see most, pure fireworks, though Takei might be better with another learning fight first.

If it was a 4 man tournament I'd go with the aim of them meeting in the final and pick

Takei vs Inoue. Takei by KO here, Inoue is the weakest...

I'll agree with the above about Casimero not deserving an Inoue fight. But I'd like to see him vs one of the contenders, to give them experience, help build their reputation. Not that many name guys in the division, he'd be a good opponent for somebody like Liam Davies, or for one of the upcoming Mexican...

  • It's a hard one to call. Inoue's full career hasn't played out to be sure how it compares with Morales who faced some greats and saw a lot of different styles.

The closest thing to Inoue that Morales faced was Barrera. There are lots of differences between them but he's the closest. Similar...

  • 126 had great fighters in the past. But that's meaningless because it has zero now. Fighting at 126 won't suddenly make him a global star just because Hamed and Barrera were big names there 20 years ago.

If he moves up and unifies 126 you'll be back making the exact same thread 'he needs...

  • Dislike Nery but credit where it's due he came to win and showed a lot of heart.

First round reminded me of Teo-Kambosos. He saw himself as a level (or multiple levels) above his opponent, figured he could treat him like a bum and wanted to prove a point. Maybe wanted to demolish Nery in...

I had the sound off at the end. For some reason I thought Sam Goodman was a black guy. Took me a while to figure out who the hell the guy in the ring with Inoue was and what was going on.

Hell of a 12th round. Maloney went for it but just doesn't have that power to make it happen.

Takei should be happy winning a title against a very good fighter in only his 9th fight. I'd pick him to beat Takuma as well. But he needs to improve his defence soon if he goes at somebody like...

Maloney has done better in the 2nd half of the fight but not to the point of turning things his way. Takei looks tired but still working away and connecting with more power than Maloney.

  • That's possible. But to pick a random number, let's say 25% of world champ are using PEDs. If so, then Bread would've heard rumours or seen something questionable about dozens of American boxers by now and has never mentioned or implied it. I think the number is a lot higher than 25% but even if it's...

  • I can see Yarde getting the shot. Gave a good showing vs Beterbiev, but not so good that he'd have a serious chance of winning vs Bivol.

Canelo will never fight Morrell, and the corrupt sanctioning bodies won't strip him, so DM may as well go for glory at 175. He's already pencilled in...

  • Did we get this same energy for any of the 100s of American fighters Bread has discussed? He's talked about Crawford's greatness every week for years without once saying anything like this about him. Bread is a smart guy and understands boxing as well as any current writer, but he has a blind spot with...
