This probably won't be that long of an entry since it's 3:30 A.M. here, but wanted to write about this fight.
I just got done watching it and my final card was 120-108 for Bernard.....Ok no not really. I had it 116-113 Jones. I found Lederman's card probably one of the worst I've ever seen. Giving Bernard the last two rounds are pathetic. I don't even think Bernard won round 11 either.
I gave Bernard rounds 1, 6, 8, 12 and round 3 even. Bernard made it interesting and competitive, but I thought Jones was getting the better of the rounds. Bernard was kind of controling the rounds, but then Jones would land a flurry or even a couple clean shots that would steal the round away. Rounds 5, 7, and 9 are examples of that.
You could tell both men were relatively green. Hopkins rarely threw his signature right even though it did find home whenever he threw it against Jones. Hopkins fighting in the clinch looked like he was a bit uneasy in it, unlike his other fights where he can just bang away in there.
Jones didn't have that sass to him and looked really puzzled, especially when he was on the ropes. Then again, Jones was always not that good on the ropes...minus the whole part where he KOd Glen Kelly with a behind the back KO from there.
As for prime for prime, who would win? It would be a whole different fight for sure, but if Jones flurries more often I think he edges it 115-113, but I can see Bernard winning it too.
Bernard definietly beats him now though. No question in my mind.
