Oscar Valdez was the offensive boxer the entire fight, outthrowing (534-447) and outlanding (149-99) miguel Berchelt on his way to a massive 10th round KO. Berchelt landed just 10 of 44 per round after landing 32 of 81 in previous 8 fights.

MGM Grand Conference Center, Las Vegas - Oscar Valdez (29-0, 23 KOs) became a two division world champion when he scored a brutal one-punch knockout of heavy favorite Miguel Berchelt (38-2, 34 KOs) to capture the WBC super featherweight title.

Valdez badly hurt Berchelt in the fourth round and nearly finished him. Berchelt recovered and began to rally a bit as the fight played out. Berchelt was dropped for a second time in the ninth from a big combination. And then Berchelt was rocked badly again in the tenth - and knocked out cold at the end of the same round.
